We are the UK's biggest mixed youth organisation. We change lives by offering 6 to 25-year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.
Although we wish we could enrol every young person who would like to join 1st Sedgley, we have limited spaces, so this is, unfortunately, not possible. Our volunteers work tirelessly to ensure as many young people as possible can join us. Our selection procedures are detailed below to provide fair and transparent enrolment.
There are lots of ways you can get more involved with Scouts. From helping out occasionally on a family rota or playing a vital role behind the scenes, to stepping up as a leader, our volunteering activities are as varied as you.
We’re talking tidy uppers and tea makers, session planners and Zoom navigators, fundraisers and treasurers, and all-round team players to support our young people.
We have waiting lists for every section, so we encourage you to reach out to other local groups that will have a shorter waiting list. They can be found here. Young people not between the ages stated will be automatically rejected, without notice. Additionally, each waiting list is independent and young people will not be automatically moved on.

These criteria are designed to offer as many young people as possible the opportunity to join while also ensuring the longevity of 1st Sedgley.
