OSM

The Scout Troop maintains personal data about young people and leaders on OSM. Information stored on OSM is used for the purpose of running Scouting. Data on OSM is updated from the OSM parent portal or manually updated by the 1st Sedgley Scout Group leadership team. The leadership team may make changes using the information provided verbally or in writing, including consent forms or other sources, including information provided by the young person. This information is required so that we can effectively run Scouting. We also hold sensitive (special category) data about young people. This data is necessary to offer additional support if required and keep the young people safe whilst in our care. 

We may share personal data with third parties for event registration, activity participation, or safety. Your data will be kept on OSM for a maximum of 5 years after the young person leaves Scouting to resolve any queries. It will then be deleted and subject to OSM data management which can be found on their website (onlinescoutmanager.co.uk).

Consent Forms

Consent forms are used to collect information about young people to run specific events and to update the young person’s OSM records. As part of these forms, we collect personal data about young people. This detail is required so that we can register them for the event. 

These forms also collect sensitive (special category) data about your young person. This detail is required so that we can offer additional support if required and keep young people safe whilst in our care. We may share data with third parties for event registration, activity participation or safety. 

The data will be kept for a maximum of 2 months after the event for any queries that arise before being securely destroyed, except data transferred to OSM, which will be maintained per our OSM data policy.
